Unranked Texas Christian University ended Texas A&M’s winning streak at seven, knocking the No. 7 team in the country out of the ranks of the unbeaten. TCU’s outstanding defense, particularly down the stretch, helped the Frogs to a 56-54 victory over their intrastate rival.
TCU overcame a 14-deficit with a late rally to take the win in a game that came down to the final seconds. The victory was the Frogs’ 12th-straight win on their home court, a streak that dates back to last season. It was also TCU’s fourth win ever against an opponent ranked in the top five in at least one of the national polls. (Texas A&M is ranked No. 5 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll, No. 10 in the Associated Press Poll, and No. 7 in Full Court’s national rankings.
