Towson Upsets Terps, 67-55

This week’s Associated Press poll ranks the Maryland Terrapins as the No. 25 team in the country. The USA Today/ESPN coaches’ poll puts them at an even loftier No. 18.
But Maryland is not nationally ranked in Full Court’s Top 25—and hasn’t been since the preseason. Tonight we saw why, as the Tigers of tiny Towson University, unranked by anyone and playing before the largest crowd ever to watch a women’s basketball game in the Towson Center, treated the Terps to a 67-55 upset.
The game marked the 100th career victory for Towson Head Coach Joe Mathews, whose Tigers improve to 5-4, while Maryland falls to 8-2.
